Welcome Welcome to the TowsonTKE Alumni site! While this site is dedecated to alumni of the Pi Upsilon Chapter of TKE we are all fraters in the bond. To that end, we welcome any and all alumni in the Baltimore Area who might find themselves without a chapter to call home. A brief history of TKE at Towson - The chapter was founded on May 10, 1985 at was then Towson State University. Because of shifting attitudes towards fraternities in the late 80's the chapter had it's charter revoked due to a bogus charge in 1989. Ten years would go by, new administrations would come and go, and the incident would be forgotten. Then in the Fall of 1999, three men, Chuck Yanney, Jake Zerbe, and Joe Webb III, would start the process of bring TKE back to Towson. Quickly those three would turn into twenty-two and on December 3, 1999 the Pi Upsilon colony would be born. The colony would spend the new few years rebuilding the fraternity - making it into a model chapter at both Towson and in the region. Finally, on May 10-11th, 2002 - in honor of the original founding fathers - TKE Headquarters granted us full chapter status. Since rechartering the chapter has continued to prosper. They are currently one of the largest and strongest chapters at Towson and in the area. They have been in the top 40 of TKE chapters (out of 275) in recruitment for the last 3 years, they actively give back to the community, raise money for charity, and of course maintain an active social calendar. They are currently in the running for Top Teke Chapter.
As the chapter is getting older now and more and more alumni are being produced - there is a new realization about the benefit of alumni support. A new push is underway to strengthen alumni relations and to make this truely the Fraternity for Life. If you are a lost alumni or just don't have a chapter to call home - please give us a call! |
